houndog:

I'm probably showing my ignorance here (don't know much about the 216), but are we talking about a belt on the tractor, or on the mower deck?

If it's the mower deck, I have the 46-inch Mid Mount Rotary Mower Operator's Manual. It shows some diagrams of the belt routing on the deck, and when attaching it to the tractor. Let me know if you would like more info.

There is a hole that the spring hooks to.  It is above the variator spring.

I hope you can see the spring.  I put a piece on white tape on the spring.

Now I wish I had painted the spring yellow, it would have been better to see.

It is above the rod for the parking brake, close to the two bolts for the parking brake rod.  It is hard to find the hole for the spring.

You will have to fill for it.

hope this help a little

Have fun and good luck
