I used the part number on the manual on this forum to order the belt that is in the right side of tractor that drives the mower deck. It was too long. I also need the belt on the left side (exhaust side) that engages when I lift the engage lever. I measured and it seems the right side is 36" and the left is 34". So im not sure if i add an inch to that or what i should do. The belt i got is a standard half inch belt. Not sure if that is correct either.

You really have to watch these interchanges that are out there especially Bolens belts, they are wrong 7 times out of 10 I would say.

What are the belt numbers you need?

Thats is also a great point, many people just go off the shoddy interchanges who sell these and have no idea they were special angles.

The ones I have been interchanging , I had to go metric special order on some of them to get them back to OEM specs

Does the model of your deck match the partslist your using?

With the early tractors many changes were made and every deck model had a different belt it seems, even if they looked the same!

The parts diagrams shown above appear to be for two different mower decks, so there is a 50% chance of guessing at the correct belts.

The actual mower decks need to be compared to the parts diagrams to try to determine the correct model of the deck, if the Bolens tag is not found on the mower attachment.

Anyone have the parts manual for the 22435-02?  I only have the -01 series and with this early stuff its likely there could have been a change and not worth it to guess.

I measured it at 36". I dont know if this means it should be 37....or 36...or 38. Its 36 with no tension from the tensioner.

My mistake!  .....I didn't see that you had previously posted the model of your mower deck.  .....Sorry, about that !
