Well I haven't posted in a while, I thought I would share some of the new to me toys.

First up: 8 hp Sears tiller. Craigslist score. Owner said his grandpa bought it new in '76. Motor was supposedly rebuilt ~10 years ago. I think it may have been a replacement engine. Haven't ran the numbers yet.

Came with this: Sears Electric Actuator. No switch or wiring, but it did work.

I was stoked, got busy and wired it up.

Also made a custom 1 & 1/2" seat riser with switch holder. Tractor is much more comfortable to drive.

Works good.

More to come.

Next up: Middle buster/potato plow. This one was bought through E-Bay and seller requested more money for shipping. Discussed here: http://gardentractor...ping-questions/

Up next: 10" turning plow, another E-bay score, sold by a member on here; Thanks Chris, "Big Spoon"

While I was waiting to pickup the plow from Chris, this showed up on E-Bay: 8" turning plow

It came with these: Disc, Older sears three point, and Cultivator. What a SCORE! Still trying to get the wheels to turn on the cultivator (one is moving)

Over a Thousand miles on the Blazer picking stuff up. Wife asked where we were going next. I said Pennsylvania, for a snow blower (all the good stuff is in Pennsy) She said no way... too far. Its only 10+ hours. I'll keep looking.

I've also been busy making a sleeve hitch adapter for the back of the ST/10; Not quite finished but it works.

One of these days I'll have to start a restore on all this.

Saw one thing, make sure you get,or make, a cover for the top of the electric actuator.

Good score!

Thanks John, I just looked in the manual I found on line and yes there is a cap that is missing. I'll look for something that fits the next trip to town.

Nice toys! You can be a regular farmer now!

Working on it; on a small scale. I live on 1.46 acres. The back .40 will eventually be mostly garden. Right now there is a 15x30 garden that has 10 tomato plants, 36 peppers, 24 broccoli, 10' row of sugar peas, 6 zucchini hills, onions, and radishes. A 8x30 plot with ~45 potato plants. Another 8x30 with 5 rows of sweet corn. There is the start of a small orchard with 4 apple trees, 2 plumb trees, 2 cherry trees, and 2 freshly planted nectarine trees. With room for an additional 5 trees. I might have lost the (new last year) cherries and one of the plumb trees over the winter, still hoping for the best, but they're not looking too good.

There is another area that contains ~50 asparagus plants, and by the shed is 12 or so red raspberry plants. Picked about 5-6 lbs of asparagus this year and should get more next year as all the plants now are at least 3 years old. This is the first year for the raspberries, not expecting much but there will be some!

The new plows, cultivator, and rototiller will come in handy this fall and next year.
