scrap steel, simply put.

The heat would have taken the temper out of every part it hit.

I feel sorry for those people.   They dropped some serious cash on three Crapsman's and one good mower and the good one caught fire.  I'm sure the other three didn't need any outside help to self destruct.  :wallbanging:

Not exactly, more than likely from the dash back is still ok, this is why you always shut off any equipment, and give it a few minutes to cool before refueling, guy's lucky he wasn't hurt or worse.

I've seen nice running ones for less in our area.

Exactly what I was thinking, we had a couple of pretty decent IH dealers in the area years ago and they are pretty common.

I actually have one each of these tractors, and if they are taken care of, they are fairly well built, good running units with lots of power and versatility.

The "yellow" ones are getting as pricey as the "green ones".

Clearly these guy are sniffing paint. Maybe they inhalaed some fumes from the fire. Either way, it actually works well for a prospective buyer. Lord knows it's not going anywhere. So a month from now you swoop in with cash in hand and aim for the ankles. You have to let the sales excitement fade away - with zero calls or interest - then it becomes a matter of principle for them to to see it move off the property. It usually becomes a realistic deal at that point - maybe even a good deal.
