Two years ago we put down 6 large tractor tires and filled them with good black dirt.  After the strawberries were through blooming we moved a bunch from ground level to the raised beds.  This years being a very wet spring everything was slow to get into the swing of growing.  With a few intermittent days of sunshine the strawberries finally came through and are really producing.  The 6 tire beds are producing an gallon of raw strawberries a day.  These were laying on a 6" X 10" paper towel for the photo.  Not everything big comes from Texas! !

Those berrys look terribly nasty!   You should send them to me so that I can properly dispose of them for you.    :D  :D    Rick

There is no good black dirt to be found on that side of the state, you have to come over to the east side to see it. While you coming, bring some berries with you, lol

I know what you have for black dirt over there. It is called black Gumbo. Can only farm it 3 days a year. Before that it is to wet and after that it is to hard.

Grandma had some help today. What is in the pail is what she picked.
