Hello everyone,
I have acquired another project to restore and was looking for any information anyone may have regarding the Make or model of this 2 wheel garden tractor.

It appears to have been originally an Orange Color.

The Gear Box assy has a casting number in raised letters of E 497

The Engine is a Briggs & Stratton Model B Type 300058 s/n 174904 (~1946)

Tires are 5.50 X 16 Goodyear Sure Grip

Any ID help would be very much appreciated.

Tom

Welcome to GTT. It looks well made but it is earlier than my experience. Someone will be along to help in awhile. Good Luck, Rick

Welcome to the forum, always good to have another Buckeye here. What you have is a Blackhawk tractor from the Ohio Cultivator Co in Bellevue, OH.If you search this forum with blackhawk you should bring up a few threads with some good info. there is also an ad in the manuals section. They were originally orange and black. I believe the casting number shows it as a 49. What is the serial number from the Briggs?

The engine shows being built in Jan 47. 47 was basically the last year of production of the B. either this engine sat around awhile or the numbers you found in the gear case ins't the date code. I don't remember if they were cast or stamped.

IMG_1810 1200x900.jpg The numbers on the tab are BT47  4859.

I have found out this is a 1947 Blackhawk Model C Heavy Duty walk behind tractor made by the Ohio Cultivator Company of Bellvue, Ohio

Thanks to everyone who helped with all the info.

Tom
