Need a little insight here guys. My 401 was working great yesterday, but went to start it today and the recoil quit on the second pull. It still has tension and when I took it off none of the springs were broken. It looks like when I pull it nothing is coming out to engage the flywheel. Any help would be nice because if it's possible I would like to take this to the big wheel horse show in 2 weeks. Thanks!

FYI I am not a recoil starter expert lol!

I am not familiar with your specific machine. The kohler that is on my old WH needs its recoil disassembled, cleanned and lubed every few years. Corrossion and hardening of the grease causes it to stick and not work. Good Luck, Rick

Mine is newer than that. Not sure if maybe I should clean everything with carb cleaner.
