After some ribbing in the chat room last night I said I would post about it. I was going to wait until it got home in a couple weeks. Dan, member broken2 went to this guys house to buy a Wheel Horse and while he was there this guy had a MF12 hydro that he wanted to sell also. Dan contacted me to see if I would be interested.

I told him I would be because I have wanted a 12 hydro since I got my 12 gear drive. Just haven't found any real good deals on one. This one has a snow blade which is in really good shape, factory two piece wheel weights, factory sleeve hitch and tire chains. Doesn't have a mower deck but that isn't a big deal. Dan said the engine leaks oil around where the governor shaft is and that it ran a little rough and needed the choke part way on to smooth it out at lower rpm.

I decided to get it and Dan got it home and wasn't going to be happy till he figured out what was up with the carb. He pulled the bowl off and pulled the main nozzle out and sure enough it was the original one that someone had pulled out before at one time. He replaced it with a service nozzle and he said the engine runs great now.

Dan is bringing it down to PA Plow Day for me. He said the hydro seems a little sluggish and could just be an oil and filter change on that but he did say that now that the motor runs good it definitely made an improvement with the hydro.

I swear this is my last tractor for a while LOL. Anyway here are a couple pics :D

HeHe, yeah right. Is that what you told the misses?

Looks pretty good. I'm guessing by the color of the flywheel shroud, that
engine has been worked on, or replaced?
Seat looks in great shape.
Congrats.

LOL, I told the wife I was done buying for a little while until I sell other stuff to make room for more. We are basically out of room so to get a new one now I have to sell one so we will see how it goes. Good thing is I have the Snapper 1655 sold as long as I get it driving good with the new hydro and also get it charging the batter.

I think the motor was worked on or replaced as well. Dan said there is like a service tag on it like it was either rebuilt or replaced possible by a dealer. Said it doesn't smoke and runs good other then the leak at the governor shaft. As long as the leak isn't too bad I will run it the way she is for a while till it is time for a restore.

Check out those wheel weights.
You can send them to Wisconsin if you can not find a use for them.:laughingteeth:

That looks like a good hydro 12 for you George. The weights and the hitch will come in handy for you.
But really how can you tell your wife you are done buying tractors for a while. :rofl2:I think we all have given the wife that story but there is always that next tractor just waiting to be saved. You are just as addicted to these tractors as the rest of us. Now it is how creative you can get in hiding/storing the next new arrival!
Anyway congrats on the new to you 12 and it's accesories.

The only reason I have been able to pull off getting the ones that I have gotten in the last week or so is because I sold/parted a couple. Even though it hurt my feelings parting a tractor out, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. So as long as the hobby pays for the hobby she is alright with it :D

LMAO, maybe. We will see. It almost seems like the seller had someone bid on it just to get the price up considering it sat that the same spot for the whole 10 days.
