i just seen video on fb take pics of points how they are hooked up and everything.

k i see you got a kohlor coil on it make sure the coil has a internal resistor built in. if not it will cause it to run like it did in video and eventually burn points up. all 3 big cast iron briggs of mine still has mag hooked up. i never had a issue with it. my sub 14 when i got it had a nova ignition installed that i removed. when i pulled points cover had new points and condensor. but i will say one thing if you do hook mag up to points again make sure flywheel key is good or you wont get spark. but the kohlor coil should work fine if it has internal resistor

also make sure points are gapped to 20 thousandths

No spark now after that pic. also that coil has a dodge logo on it.

that would more than likely be issue theres no internal resister

The part list don't show a external coil for the model. I think it had a internal coil probably went bad and the guy rigged up this setup.

yes the coil on it is not original. because mine has mag over flywheel on the 3 running cast iron briggs i got

Have you cleaned the points since that picture above? They look pretty dirty in that picture

I'm going to go ahead and buy one when I order the points

I planning on painting again after I get it going good again. This color is a lighter blue I think it might be close to what I want.
