Ran into this garden tractor over the weekend at an auction. When you first look at it , it looks familiar,,,but that paint job???? Safety yellow and black. Not a bad looking tractor. Actually it's a Simplicity 7013S in JC Penny Co disguise. Don't see a lot of these. They were sold unders the JCP name with just the displacement noted on the hood, but it's the same solid garden tractor underneath. It was very rusty and the engine was locked up. Bidding went all the way to $215, but I bailed out at $100. Still, for someone wanting a challenging project......but, as my son points out, I already have half a dozen sitting around awaiting my attention!fi1.cgi.jpg

That's a pretty straight looking tractor.

Looks like it would be a solid start. It even has the hubcaps. Although I think it would take a good bit of elbow grease to polish them out, might be too far gone and have to get them replated. I love the landing chevrons on the rear fenders :D

Yeah! I'm kinda digging the paint scheme....having second thoughts about bailing out on the bidding! BUT...I've got 2 3014s and a 52125 sitting by, eying me furtively, quietly awaiting their turn, in addition to a couple of walk behinds and a Continental A-65 aircraft engine! I am really liking that yellow and black!

That is a fairly rare tractor, Simplicity didn't make very many for J.C. Penny's... I've only seen one other somewhere, with new paint, they look kinda neat...
