Have C-175 and forgot how hood hinges go on. My 83 manual shows diff kind. I tried to look for diff year manual, and not finding one like mine. Model code is off a letter in my ID papers. Took some pix here, can you explain 4 me? I know the longer pieces go on frame.not sure which way to face angles on them. Also not sure if inside or outside of frame?

Yeah, that's different! Is there a rod that they hinge on? Which holes fit the hinge rod?

3/8" holes for rod. Think smaller ones, maybe for smaller stop rod when open? Or that might hit on front of hinge where curved? Bolts to frame, two sizes, think 5/16 and 1/4, not sure why.

Interesting. I just did a search on Redsquare and everything I found was entirely different. I'm pretty useless on this one.

WGHD, that is for the standarad C size, knew those, but black hoods seem to be extended out some and diff hinges. Thanks for the pictures time.

GWest, YEs, Yes!  That left picture or the other boxed on on right are the right ones. I could only find that center type with the V-shaped parts and were not mine. Tractor is an automatic, but not sure why that would make any diff, but who knows?  Only thing not known now is what side of frame to put them on, inside or out?  I guess I can get that figured out. Thanks again!  First time I've ever had odd Horse items, usually most are same from model to model.

GL, is there something on the frame that the curved cut out goes around?

No there isn't that I recall. Was thinking maybe for the quick-tach, but seems to high for that.  Heck, maybe this is someone's change and not even right one?? BUT, it does look like that picture above. Having hard time saving and printing that for some reason, get a lot of junk on firefox saved. Otherwise it wants to print this whole posting forum, which I'm doing now just to get that picture. It won't be big like I can open it too tho. Not sure why having save issue, do all the time most times.

Go to

https://lookup3.toro...fm?xCaller=Toro

and use model number 01-17KS02

When the parts page opens there is a small printer icon at the top left of the illustration. Click on that for a page that prints well.

1980 was the year they switched to Eaton hydros and that parts list shows the second design for a hood hinge. Model 01-17KE01

Thanks West, I hate that darn site, can never find anything. Didn't think to use those model numbers, C175 sure didn't work!  I finally took a picture of your attachment on my phone and took it out with me. I have the frame ones mounted, on outside, as when inside, the metal end of frame was up into the curve of where these bump out wider. SO, fits better other way.  I then mounted other halves on hood temporarily and held up to it, and they line up good on outside of frame mounts. SO, good to go!  I won't mount hood till I drop in engine and have to put "Sparkle" paint on what is normally the black area on this one.

If you enter C-175 with a dash they will all come up.

I see Parts Tree does that now also.

Well, guess they are correct, pix here. I need that small rod across bottom yet to keep hood from falling forward too far. Have some screwdrivers in there in pix, it works that way. Engine back in, but now it has wiring issues, durn! I quit for day, get that another.
