I bought this mower from a neighbor a few years ago and I find I don't use it much. It's built like a tank with a real heavy cast aluminum deck but it's missing the rear bag and there is no other way for the cut grass to get out. It runs well but when it idles the motor hunts up and down fast. Anyone have any experience with this model. I think it's a Kaw OHV engine.

I see 4.5 hp, so it's a 1990-'92 model, the '93's got punched up to 5 hp.

The FC150v in there is a good motor, sounds like the carb needs a good cleaning.

I had one just like it and loved it. The blade brake setup is really neat.

Never a problem.

Good luck with fixing it, as said above it is probably a minor carb issue.

They made a plastic grass chute to direct the cut grass material to the left as you're pushing/walking behind the mower.  The chute mounts under the rear door,, in the same place as the grass bag.

A friend with some fabrication skills shouldn't have much trouble making one. Stainless would look nice.

The engine hunting problem could be as simple as the carb vent being plugged up, the Kawasakis tend to do that if they really get dirty.
