Finished up the assembly of the unit today. Turned out pretty nice and was able to save the original wood handles.
These hoes were made from around 1891 thru 1910, according to the ads I've found and mentions of them in trade magazines for that period. There were sold by Deere & Massuer in 1899, so I don't know if that means Deere bought them out, or was just a jobber. This hoe work by having spring loaded handles that stay open and you pulled them to together to get the weeders closer to the crop. The weeders seem to be the only tooling they came with per the ad's pictures.
Just have to put on the pin stripping and it will be just like a new one.
