I am currently in search of one of those diesel engines for a repower on my 1973 John Deere 140. Any help in locating one would be greatly appreciated.

Last year, one showed up at the Plainfield Swap meet and one at Zagray. I haven't seen one this year on CL nor Zagray. Good Luck, Rick

I did not get a chance to make it to Zagray this year. I was away for the first one. Thank you for the info. I got about a month before I have to have one. I have to tear the tractor apart first. After that, I am going to need it to start on building motor mounts and supporting equipment.

This ebay seller my BIL has bought from and was VERY pleased.  He has a D662 he will ship for a total of right at $1,140 and with "buy it now" offers a 60 day warranty.  He has another engine that would work but a bit higher.  look HERE

I am currently in England and won't be back till the 9th. I don't think I will be able to make it. Are you going?

Thank you, I missed that one on some of my searches. I saved it for later.

I hope to take my son to a D Day memorial activity on Saturday.

I hope to go to Brooklyn on Sunday but there isn't as much there on Sundays. Have a safe trip. Good Luck, Rick

Rick, if you can go and you are wondering around, do you mind if you find one, asking the seller his number and say that I will call when I get back. I would appreciate that.

Of course. If is a good enough deal I may just buy it and hold it for you. The one at Plainfield was demonstrated to run and then sold for about $250. I was 3rd in line on that one. It was a 3cyl Yanmar, I think. No radiator. Good Luck, Rick

Thank you very much. I was debating if I wanted to document the repower/restoration on here or WFM. I might document all the work here. I am going to PM you my home and cell number just in case. I can't answer the phone till I get back though. It does not work overseas.

If you wanted a phone to call the USA, Tracfone prepaid works minute for minute even over the big ponds, at least mine did when in the USA.

There is a nice 2TNV70-HGE on ebay right now. Does anyone know what HGE means?

Just wondering if you got a chance to go and see in Plainfield if there was a motor?
