Hi Guys,

I'm working on a 1962 Briggs model 23 AFB that needs a set of points that I can't seem to find. After an ebay search, the only ones I'm finding have a spring that these don't, so I don't believe they're the right style.

I stopped at my local Briggs dealer who pulled out the Micro Fiesch and found them discontinued through Briggs. There has to be an aftermarket source...any help is appreciated!

Thanks, Rob

I believe those were discontinued in 2004, no aftermarket is available either!

One of the dumbest things briggs did was discontinue these IMO!

I do have some NOS full kits here if your interested , also stock the condensors

I hope not discon.   I have a few of those engines just bought.  If discontinued, I would bet there is a NEW style set that works in it's place??  Might check on that. I know the push rod seal and other things changed over years.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I don't understand Briggs thinking there nor understand why nobody is reproducing them as it has to be a pretty commonly used set of points.

What do you need for a NOS set and condensor?

Thanks, Rob

:D

Nobody is reproducing them, but I am working on it.    It will be a little while before it happens, though.

Rotary supplied aftermarket replacements years ago:

B&S # 292021 points or B&S # 291371 points = Rotary # BR14

B&S # 291369 condenser = Rotary # BR502

Perhaps some of these are floating around, or maybe a Rotary dealer could question Rotary.
