I inherited my grandpa's 1987 JD 318. I intend to do some restoring to it as well as purchase a snowblower for it. My question, is the JD 47 snowblower a "plug-and-play install? Or does it require some modifications? I know I need the quick attach, but do I need anything else?

I know the 49 snow thrower is a self contained unit but I'm not sure about the 47 blower. It may need the front hitch, which you could also use for the 54 blade. There was a guide around for all the tractors and implements that showed what fit on each tractor.  Can't seem to find it in the manuals section. I'll take a look in my files and see if I have it.

There are two versions of the 47.  The earlier one is complete unit and the later one is just the blower and will need the hitch and front pto adapter.
