This is a restoration project for our 4-H group. The mechanicals are good, but it has been molested by someone who really wanted a JD. The steering wheel is falling apart, is there a replacement part that will fit? Ambition is $$$, budget is $.

Welcome to the Forum!

You may want to give http://www.tubeframes.com/ a try or Bob's Lawn and Garden Tractors They are both great people to deal with and they are both site sponsors.

If you need any more help feel free to ask. There are a few Bolens nuts on here that should be able to help you out :D

:welcometogttalk: I hope you have success in finding parts for your restoration.

What will your 4H group do with the tractor when it is done ? Please keep us updated on the group's progress.

The Bolens nuts on here will be able to steer ya in the right direction. Looks like a camo paint job. Kind of a small pic. Would love to hear how it progresses with the project :D

With title of this thread, I wasn't sure what to expect, an ugly tractor, or an ugly owner? LOL! :laughingteeth:

I stick mostly to the JD stuff nowadays, but I really like those old Bolens as well. As stated above, the Bolens guys will be of the most help. Looks like a neat project, keep us all posted with your progress. Adam

Fix her up a little, a good cleaning and tuning, and correct paint and decals and you will have a neat looking machine. Are you the 4H leader, or member? I think what you are doing is great. Should draw a lot of interest. Plenty of help at this site, so don't hesitate to ask questions.

Oh, by the way, WELCOME

best regards, George
