The May long weekend that people have been looking forward to doing camping tenting etc: has turned into a nightmare. After having nice weather for awhile now.I even cut the grass a couple time. People have started field work and some crops are up.Some have there gardens planted, the the berry trees have blooms etc: .Mother Nature gives it to us.Yeterday we had a terribly windy ,gusty day, and steady blowing  , and rain.for over 24 hrs.Of course it turned to heavy wet snow and blowing snow. Roads are a mess etc:.Tonight its supposed to go down to -6c so if it does thats a heavy frost, goodbye to berries, etc: I had to shovel the deck off this morning. It's going to take sometime for it to dry up enough again to beable to get into the fields.

theres a fine line between rain and snow when it comes to temperature. This is last Sunday. I had just passed a motorcycle who had pulled over. I saw that he spent the night 5 miles up the road at arctic watershed pickle park

We had heavy frost here twice in the last week. It was -2c early in the morning on those days. No snow thank goodness. There was still a tiny bit of it in the woods on the corner of the driveway where I plowed and blew a lot of snow last winter. It's in the low 70s here today and sunny. I got outside and fixed one of our heat pumps that quit working last fall. We mostly use it for AC in the summer. Mice again. The little beggars caused a bad connection which ruined a connector on a circuit board. I hard wired it to bypass the problem.

It has frozen here for the last five nights, got to -6 last night but is +15C now. We have seen that much snow on top of previously warmed ground provide insulation from a heavy frost at this time in spring. All may not be lost.

U

Yep good reason to not move north.

Sure is easy to keep our beer cold. Snowing again tonight for the last time this season... REALLY!!
About 80 miles of the area I travel in each night is thick with moose. Not unusual to see a couple dozen every night this time of year. A small part of that stretch has not been hunted in 50 years. There are some super sized moose in there
