Does anybody have any idea on what to use for a replacement heat shield on the muffler?   Mine is beat to snot, rewelded in a few places and rattles from the split areas.  It seems like the chroming process has left it brittle in its age.  Obviously new ones are NLA from Simplicity.  Mike

I haven't tried to do this yet,,,  But I always wondered about those  semi tractor ,,chrome  or  stainless  muffler sheilds..  the ones that are perforated,, or slats cut into them... I don't think a bent up one would cost much at a truck salvage...and it could be cut down or straitened  for a GT... There should be plenty of material there to make even several sheilds...

they r not chrome, they are stainless,i need one too,I've been noticing some off the semi's that pass through the shop I work at have very similar pattern,so I too need to get to some type of semi salvage,i think is the best bet
