GL, you better follow Daniel's farm thread. He didn't get out of the dairy business by buying more cows!

Year is NOT over yet!!!   Most all are 23's and some have diff letter like A or such after that.  The black one with the rope hanging on it Runs!  Just got gas and put in and cranked some and it started. Woopeee!  The other black on in opposite corner of trailer in pix is firing, but can't hold it and pull at same time, so need to mount it on board. Think it will go OK.  Some of these blocks have ridge and bolts or holes for mounting PK bellhousings on maybe seems to me. The one red one has a real diff case, there is no bearing cap to remove on that side like the others, seemed odd.

The model 23 engines with the flat bearing plate on the crankshaft PTO side are the more desirable engines. These engines will have roller bearings on the crank instead of the plain bearings. The plain bearing engines don't hold up as well if you side load the crankshaft.

Dsl. just getting tired of it. Never have many finished and garage/shop is full of junkers and "wanna-be's" that may never get done by me. As you get older, the work gets harder to do and wears you out in 1/2 day.  Plus, lots of money spent and nothing nice to show for what is spent.  I have trouble figuring out "Dreams" from "Reality" when looking at these things, heh!

Grumpy, the dreams can become a reality, but as you know it is a lot of hard work bringing some of these machines back to life. I've got two tractors I'm completely restoring and it's my first go at full restorations. Each part becomes a project in itself, but I'm in no rush, even though I want to see them finished. There is some interest by others in what I'm doing, but I mainly do what I do because I enjoy it. Once it becomes a job, I'll be getting out of the hobby.

I see there was room on the trailer for more so you are weaning yourself out of the hobby slowly. Nice score!

Wife came home from work, walked out to see. Scowled and pointed at them and said "One sale sign or Two?"  BUT, she helped me get a couple engines off trailer, bless her.   She "plays" the part of scorning me for buys, but deep inside I think She likes them too, specially when one is done and working. That's my Story and sticking to it.  Besides, I'm making one for her too, special Purple Pony!  Wheelhorse, not Speedex.
