Hello All,
Here's the proverbial barn find for you. I was told by the original owners daughter that she remembers her dad having it forever but never seeing him use it. I got it home and would you believe everything is free on it? It doesn't have spark but I didn't look into anything yet. Any ideas of what I have here? I will post pictures. The tag is present but not clear enough to make out.
Please let me know.

Thanks
Mike

What model is that Continental. That will narrow it down a lot.

I got one last year too without spark ,turned out the points must have had an oily film on them ,after filing they didn't have conductivity across until I cleaned them with Brake Clean. I just used mine in the garden this week ,started on the first pull . Good engines have fun and post some pictures of the adjustable foot in use

The points are under the black cover in the picture you posted . Best to down load the engine manual, the governor needs to be loosened to get the cover off if I remember right .

The 917.57560 was the Briggs 6 Super power and ran the same 1951-1953 range...

560 used a briggs model 8, that's were the super power part came in. Model 6 is only 2hp , model 8 is 2.5.

Model 6 or 8 wasn't the point I was making, so did not notice the error that was created. Thanks for the correction.
