Hydro fluid in HD12

What fluid should I put in my HD12? And what is the fluid level my has got a elbo with a plug in it on the right side of the transaxle? Thanks for your help Jake

Transmission fluid- I don't think it matters- my memory is dextrin-mercon - I buy the larger containers- if you are changing fluid there is a filter screen you will want to pull out and make sure it's not clogged-it's in the hole you drain the fluid out of- may take a small hook to pull it out or may can pull it out with your small finger- I usually just make sure the fluid is fairly full but not over flowing- some of other guys may can add more to this info.

Just fill to top of elbow. I use dexron III in mine but you can use straight 30wt motor oil, or a quality hydraulic/transmission oil. Do NOT use straight hydraulic fluid.
