I have kept my father's late 1950's Bolen's walk-behind which I cherish, and am planning to restore. Can you direct me to the correct green and yellow paints I will need for the engine and hood?  Thank you.

Hello, Welcome to GTT!

I am going to move your thread to the Bolens forum so it gets more exposure.

Can you post some pictures and model number of your machine? There were 3 different greens and 2 yellows used on these tractors.

Thanks to all that have responded.  I will check the S/N information from the engine and post this with a picture.

I only have the engine and shroud, as my father parted out the walk-behind for other things decades ago.  A picture is attached.  If I have the numbers right, I copied down the following:

Engine Model No. 8R6

Type No.  107857

S/N. 316956

Again, any reference to the correct paint for my restoration would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Phil1

See post #80 in this thread for the Green

For the Yellow or ''Orange" as Bolens called it I used Martin Senior 53D-10106  4.52VOC

Your 12BB Power ho would have been made from 1950-1953

Re Post #80, I am assuming these are mixing codes for RM or MS I could take to a auto paint store to have them give me the correct paint mix?  I have the MS information for the Bolen's orange.  Thanks.

Yes, I had the green custom mixed, if you have a local napa near by they should be able to mix them for you with the directions on the sheet.
