Sat worked on blasting and painting wheels. They are Argent or Silver Case/IH color. It's good stuff. Going to take back to tire store to install those, hopefully few scratches to fix. I then need to figure out how I'm going to mask off the centers for the sparkle paint. Only need to do the outside with that. Looking like cardboard between the four spoke mount areas and taping of surface near the same mount, then some paper around all that for the rest of outer wheel is gonna do it. Just hoping paint won't pull off  with masking removal then. Think with couple days drying I should b OK on that.  The small front wheels are gonna be a little hard to do. I need to have a cylinder or ?? to be same size as area I want to paint that I can slip down in and spray inside it I'm thinking. OR, IF I can find right material, might have to fold it around in circle and tape or staple to hold size. Would have to spray inside that, then pull it our right away, so it won't stick to drying paint and pull it off. Any ideas on a method? This is also only on outside and the shallower offset then on front wheels.

Took the hood to a strip shop to clean. Much easier and better job that I can do, even tho I have to pay for that procedure. Much less frustration and time is getting short, have to have done by show in Mid July. Engine still needs to go back in and tweak the governor control, hoping for luck on that next.

Wheels all painted silver now and one of each front and rear have the centers sparkled now. I'll get pix when I can get outside in sun, that is where sparkle shows best.  I had to put that on rear wheels using the deep side to show out. Man, hard to work down in there!  Made little pieces of tape to go into all the angles where the spokes weld on outer rim and then just paper taped around and down in the wheel. Worked!  Looks pretty good!  Have to sparkle the hood center now. Painted that purple again today, didn't like the dullness of first job. Got it outside in good sun and could see better and dried quicker, and much shinier now. My biggest fear now is pulling that paint when I strip off the tape from the sparkle masking I will do next. Keep fingers crossed!  I let it set in sun to dry better and with extra day to dry, chances are less.  That's it for today, gotta lay down before work, 3rd shift!

Painted sparkle on hood today, and two other wheels. All mounted up now. Got the hinges right on hood. Still missing a small rod there to keep hood from going open too far, a kind of stop. Engine in, but now won't start!! Ooops! Won't crank at key, will bypassing it. Won't spark, will if I run a jumper to coil, but then that gets hot and wants to melt. SO, somewhere in wiring I have a short I think. I had brake switch and pto switch set and working. Too tired to continue tonight, so came in for day. Here's some pix.

Got it starting and running normal again, But with diff wires the before for the ignition and ammeter. Ended up running directly to ammeter from Batt, cranks now and shows charge. The ignition wire to coil was somewhere else b4,not sure where. The ignition wire from past was going to ground?? Safety switches work too, thought that might be issue, but not. I now need cute name for decals. Looking at "Sparky Grandma", Sparkling Gramma", which I like better. Was thinking small "here comes" first, but She hated that! Was thinking of "the B***h" the way she was today! What you think? Will have Debbie across back fenders where horse usually is.

Got some headlights in today, not sure they show in pix or not. Finally got the Mrs and G-daughter to come out and take pix.

I hadn't gotten the chance to catch up on this since you got the wheels done.
The whole tractor looks great! She got to be happy with the outcome.

You could put "Look Out, It's" above the headlights and "Grandma Sparkle" down both sides

You also need a small decal so we here that says "Another Wheel Horse messed up by GL Grumpy" :D

That actually looks pretty good G. My daughter wants me to paint the Speedex purple since it's kind of hers.

I am slightly partial to purple too.....
