I see that HF now has 22 hp Horizontal Predator engines for $550. Does anyone have experience with the HF cheap engines? I bought one of the 6.5 hps to put in a leaf shredder.  Good Luck, Rick

HF engines are Chinese built and I have only had experience with one of them.  Nice smooth running engine.  Quick easy starting.  Only negative is they are over rated on hp and lack any hang power.  Had a 13 hp on a wood splitter for a short time.  Put an old 10 hp Briggs on the splitter and it would do twice the work that the 13 Chinese would.  Their 22 hp would compare around a 15 hp Briggs or Tech when it comes to hard work.  Just my opinion.

From what I have read, it's a Honda GX630 or 670 clone. Adapting one to a GT would be pretty simple, all sorts of adapters available for that Honda series.

The charging system on the Predator VTwin is dinky, 3 amps or so. Inadequate for an electric pto equipped GT.

I have repowered a few small pieces of equipment like a power washer and mower with a predator engine.  As far as I know they are still running and doing the job.  I don't have any experience with the bigger engines for the LT's or GT's.

I have one of their generators and it's great.  smooth, quiet, sips fuel like a Honda so far.

Here are a couple repowers the Simpletractors guys have recently done:
