Just heard this morning that a childhood friend/neighbor of mine was waslking across a street in California and was hit by a vehicle and killed.

He was 2 1/2 years older than I and he had 2 sisters. We used to play and ride motorcycles together. I would care for their pets when they went on vacation. We all helped maintain the city park during the summers.

Their father was the person that got me involved in motorcycles when I was 14 years old!

I was very close to to the entire famly while growing up.

Just one more thing to depress me after turning 60 last week! Good thing I am medicated!

My sympathies on your loss. I noticed as I approached 60 that alot of friends were dropping. Some were even younger than me. We don't know when our time is up so, just be gratefull for what you have. Geating older can get depressing and painfull but, it beats the alternative. Good Luck, Rick

Sorry to hear about your friend.   As Rick said you just don't know when your time is up!  So you need to enjoy the time you have.  Cherish the memories you have of him and then go take a ride and enjoy the openness, Freedom the bike gives you.

Sad to hear this. A good friend is hard to find and sometimes tough to keep. Sound like you two were close and had a great time together. Condolences and think about the good times.  60 isn't that old, when you catch up to me let me know.  Hope you can have a good day in spite of this.                                        Roger

My 50th high school reunion is coming this year. I was just told that 5 people I my class have passed, but the classes just before and behind me are down by half. Death is an essential part of life. It keeps everything in perspective.

Sorry to hear of your loss.  We all have been there and know how you feel.  There are some things in life we have no control over.  As we get into the upper years we need to take better care of ourselves and know when to stop and take a break, or even a mid day nap. I have found that at 74  I cannot keep up with a 4 yo granddaughter !  Imagine that !

As we get older it's more funerals and fewer weddings, cycle of life. Life is a wonderful gift, death is the final chapter of earthly existence. I don't make twenty year plans anymore, but I still look forward to tomorrow.
