I'm hoping someone knows the length or part number of the main mower drive belt for my 68 Sears suburban and which pulley on the engine is it supposed to be on. It was. The smaller deep one next to the drive belt and the mower spun really slow but that's where the belt I had fit but I put the belt on the next bigger pulley while not being able to mow with it like that it spun much faster. Thanks.

42" deck as far as I know. i have no model numbers on tractor or mower. If it was that easy I wouldn't need help. All I know is it is a 68 Sears suburban12.

Does this look like your tractor & mower?

If so the engine to deck belt is Sears part # 6517H. NAPA converts that ot a 5L1000W, a 5/8" X 100" belt.

I haven't had time to see if we have the manuals for it here. If not, I know where to get them.

Interchange is showing from sears direct a 99'' and 100'' belt

What ever you do make sure its a kevlar belt, any "L" series belt is FHP

I think this site has them. I've tried to load them on my phone but they don't work and while I'm at work I forget to download them to my laptop. Really appreciate at least a base to start with. That picture actually looks like a white deck and mine is black with the lift mechanism on the deck.

Download the manuals from this site. Get the sears part number and then cross it to a normal belt number. I have a pdf that crosses the number to the size if I can get it loaded.image.jpg

We may have to add to that list as I have tried to find a few belts in that before and they aren't listed.

I would go with the 100'' as most interchanges I have point to that as the correct size.

They are not too bad priced either for a US made kevlar belt my list is $ 39.22 w/ free shipping
