The bent plate....the one the piston followers slip into...the thin plate with the holes?  If so, long as it lays reasonably flat it will be fine.  The wear plate looks good to me.  If you had a round brass brush you could chuck to a cordless drill, that would clean the barrels up most likely.  Or maybe some very fine emery along with some PB Blaster on a split dowel to dress them down a bit.
I take it the pump section all looks fine?

didn't take the pump down.
I have news soon, I think. Raining cats and dogs so it may have to wait a few,

Thanks guys. It felt good to move on it. Even in the rain, it was fun
The more I work on this, the more I think of the scene from Apollo 13 where they dump a bunch of parts out on a table and say "we have to make This fit That using only These..."
I know the electric needs tweaking, the linkage for the hydro does too.
I plan on driving and then draining the oil out of the tranny, flushing with diesel fuel and then waiting a day for the filter to get here and filling back up.

OK, So I found a good cross for the filter in the book.

Roper 5276R seems to equal NAPA 1551 (or pretty darn close)

Question, the tractor manual calls for ATF type F...

what can I sub?
