I need to make a new gasket for the gear cover on my Choremaster.

It is part # V-1009...I don't expect to find a new gasket, but if anyone knows how thick this gasket is, I would appreciate knowing.

I can get gasket material in 1/64" and 1/32", and thicker.

I used a "mic" on the old (shot) gasket and it was 0.01", but could have been "squeezed" some. 1/32"  is 0.03125, therefore 1/64" would be 0.01562.

The main reason I am asking for the thickness is this cover also helps support the axle shaft and I don't know if a thicker gasket would cause problems.

1/64 paper with gear oil sealant is what I used on one according to my notes.

I will reproduce a couple to have on hand when I get another tractor in to borrow as a pattern.  They don't really fail, but if you do a quality rebuild you should clean up the gear box.
