Hey guys,

New to the forum.  Just recently picked up a bolens ride a matic, very well complete aside from attachements.  Got the motor to fire, just need to get a rebuild kit for the carb and clean it all up.  Can't wait to fully restore this thing!  I am however looking for attachments if anybody has them forsale.  Came with a mower deck.  Would love to have a sickle bar or tiller as well but I know how tough they are to come by.

Also, I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me anything about this tractor.  I've seen videos of a 59 with a shaft drive attachement for the tiller in the rear.  I was wondering how that worked.  How exactly does the sickle bar run in the front?  Can I buy any mule drive to drive it or does it have to be bolens specific?

                                                         Any thoughts are appreciated!!!

Welcome to the site.  You came to the right place for answers to your questions.  I too am a recent RAM owner.  I put electronic ignition on mine and got rid of the points and condenser. Fires right off now. Waiting for a shroud and to get new belts installed.  Good luck with your project.

Welcome !

Bolens tractors had very specific attachments and nothing from another manufacture is interchangeable especially on this series of tractor.

If you post some pictures we should be able to tell you more about the machine, Ride-a-Matics are fairly easy to locate, finding decent attachments is another story, if you keep looking they are out there.

From Hammonton.  10-4 on the pics, will be getting some uploaded possibly later tonight.  I grew up with a ride a matic as a kid in my parents barn.  A few years ago my mother gave it away due to my parents splitting up and I never thought I would see one again.  low and behold I found one IDENTICAL to what we had, but this one had a mower deck with it and electric start.  I'm hoping to find some attachments here in the near future, but the mower deck alone is enough to keep me busy around the yard for now!

Hank,

I would love to see some more photos of your RAM; as that style are very rare in the UK.

Thanks

Forgot to mention this was a one owner tractor, got it from someone who bought it from the original owner.  They guy I got it from had it for maybe a week.  Everything moves, it fires, other than a little grease and paint this thing should work top notch.

Nice machine you have there. It is a newer model than mine. Mine is 231/232 -01 and is missing the engine shroud and the belt covers. Engine shroud is in the mail but still looking for the belt guard. Have fun with your project.
