A friend of mine from way back passed away & just seen in paper today. I called him "Wild Bill", as he lived a bit rougher than I ever have, but always liked seeing him. He was 72. Bought my 1st dishwasher from him over 30yrs ago, and still had it when Teresa & I got married 18yrs ago. About 10 or 12 yrs ago, Wild Bill got the garden tractor bug, and called or came to visit several times. I went to his "Town Days" event last Fall to see he & his tractors in the parade. He just called me a few days ago, but I was gone & he left a message.....wanting to talk tractors. With all this divorce thing with my son, I hadn't gotten round to return his call, and I REALLY hate that. Wish so bad I had gotten to talk to him. Got the milking done & fixing to head to the church before his funeral. Just wouldn't be right not to go say goodbye. I don't think his family is into GT's, so I plan to see if there's a chance I could buy one of his rides to make a memorium decal on it & remember him by. Gonna miss the old guy!

Yep, he had moved away & lost contact many years ago, but when he got the tractor bug, that's when we hooked back up. Been talking tractors for several years now. Having one of his tractors would be fitting, as it was our kinship.

Met his 2 older son's today. Had only met his youngest son, who has been to my place MANY years ago. They have NO idea as to what's what with the garden tractors & asked if I could come by Sunday to help them get an idea as to what Bill had collected. I'm gonna go help them out. About a 40 mile trip to his place. I asked them if they were going to sell them & they said definitely yes, as none of them have an interest or need for them & would like me to have one. He had little or no life insurance that they know of, so they HAVE to sell all they can to cover the funeral expenses. Was good to see more of his family and good to be able to help them out.

It would be fitting if they allowed you to 'take care' of the tractors. I am sure you would find each a fine home.
