I looked at (I think) all of the manuals associated with my MF 10 but the pn's given for engine parts appear to be Massey pn's....Do we have a Tecumseh part number reference here or at least a cross reference to the Massey numbers?

Thanks!

Rich

Thanks!

What's the agreed upon acceptable period muffler for an early MF-10?

I am not sure if the early MF10's had the horizontal muffler on them or not. That is one thing I never kept track of. Doug did a nice restore on his 1966 MF10. It is on the main section of the site under restorations.

I think the "deluxe" muffler like I have on my 12, did not come on the 10's. That said, the pepper pot style can be bought new everywhere.

I plan to hand build a "deluxe" muffler (with mods) to fit like stock on my MF-12 Hydra with the OH140 motor. The outlet is more in the center than the front end like the HH120

I remember a post a while ago that the later years of the 10's had the deluxe muffler as an option...

I've seen 3 mf10's with the deluxe muffler, I own one of them. I think it is 1974

Well I did some digging and learned something today, looks like 75 - 76 last 2 years they made the MF10s came with Deluxe mufflers.
Also all MF10s have the short fuel tank.

MF12Gs 74 to 76 came with the Deluxe muffler and the short fuel tank, the earlier models had the round muffler and the long fuel tank.
MF12Hydra it's a little confusing as I can't figure out for sure what they did but I think 69 to 72, last year for the Hydros had the Deluxe muffler and short fuel tank. Earlier models came with round muffler and long fuel tank???
Looks like Deluxe muffler and short fuel tank go together.
