Looking for opinions on this tractor. It's for sale locally, supposed to run and mow fine. Has 18hp Onan twin. Seller is asking $350. Is this a good machine? What are thoughts on the price? I've never had an Onan, so I don't know what to look for or if it's even a decent engine. Any input will be greatly appreciated.image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I think, 350 is a good price. JD used Onan engines, too. And if you don't like the GT anymore, you can sell it in parts.

$350??? And you haven't bought it yet???

The Grill isn't busted or cracked that's amazing all by it's self. There's an upper and lower Grill in similar condition on Ebay for $325.00 Which is a WEEEEEEEEE bit to much IMO lol.http://www.ebay.com/...=item25a5135851

I see 1 thing on it that might scare some people.3rd pic the wiring harness is unplugged from the ignition switch.Might want to find out what's going on there.

I would jump on it ASAP though. That's a good deal.

I'd buy it looked at one just like that the guy wouldn't move from 700 on it.

Thats a good price for the tractor.

Onan engines are good, and will run with the best of them, BUT the parts really are worth more than their weight in gold should you have to replace something.

Got it! Thanks for the advice everybody. It runs great, the belt the guy bought for it is too short. Anybody got a suggestion on where to get one? image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Drive belt? Or Mower belt? or PTO Belt?

Sears 18/6 Tractor Manual is Here.

http://gardentractor...5191-model-186/

Drive Belt is part# 2692R 5/8" x 83"

I THINK this is the Deck manual.Just guessing here on this one without having any numbers to look up.

http://gardentractor...917-253580-590/

PTO Belt is Part# 6941R  5/8" x 103"

The Belt that goes around the spindles

42" Deck Belt is 6942R  1/2" x 87"

48" Deck Belt is 6943R  1/2" x 92"

I love these Red belts they seem to hold up Really good.No one sells these around here so I usually end up on Ebay.

It's the belt that runs the mower deck. It attaches to the larger pulley on the engine.

I get my mower drive belt from NAPA, B100 I think, should be the same as the Tecumseh motors though.

Oh that's a great buy.
