Can anyone tell me what the length and width of the tractor drive belt is suposed to be for my G16 XT? I have a parts book on the way but this belt is all I need to have this tractor up and running. Thanks in advance.

This is one of those oddball size belts that can be tough to replace.

Bolens part # should 1729716

Length is 46.6" width is 43/64" (HB), Thickness is 7/16". It's wider than a standard A series or 4L belt and a 5/8" or B series belt is too wide and too thick. You may try a 1/2 x 46" or 1/2 x 47", but in the end you may well be better off finding a NOS Bolens belt for it.

NAPA had a belt that crossed over to the Bolens number so put it on.  Pulleys are a little rough and the new stiff belt keeps the driven pulley turning all the time.  Can't shift gears with out turning the engine off and then starting it in gear.  Hopefully that will clear up after some use.  Will see how that works out when the new ignition switch gets here.  Throttle linkage hangs up at the slow speed.  Will have to take it off and clean it all up good.    Just a few minor fine tuning things that go with the territory.
