Hi, I am skiptoothbicyclerider. I have acquired two walk behind garden tractors some years ago and they sit quietly in my garage. One, a 1951 Planet Jr. the other I'm assuming is a Gardenaid which by dating the engine should be 1942-43. It has steel wheels with steel cleats and a Briggs and Stratton NR 6 engine with the power reduction being cast as part of the engine block. The reason I say assuming is that it does not have the wooden peg style lever on the handle, mine has a steel lever. Everything else seems to scream Gardenaid. I am starting to finally get around to working on it but would like to know the colors and layout, what gets painted what color. I know it suppose to be orange and black, but anyone find a good color match for the orange? I have the only one that I have seen with steel wheels, no pictures or anything, zilch. So, not sure how the wheels should be painted. I would appreciate any and all help. If I can get moving on this I'd like to put it in our county fair for others to see.  I'll take some pictures and post here when I get it dug out of my garage, it's been sitting some 6+ years. Thank you all in advance for you time and help.

Welcome to the forum. My understanding on the Garden-aid and Bready issue was that they were the same basic tractor except for the handle. The Bready used a steel handle where the G-A had the wooden one.

Welcome to the forum!

We have some smart walk behind guys wandering around loose on here.  I bet if you post some pictures we can help you figure it out.

You have tractors of about the vintage I like messing with.
