I have been searching for a 1050 on Craigslist and the local on line auction houses since October of last year. My search is over!!! Saturday, I pick up a running 1050 with a snow thrower, blade, and mower deck for $500.00. To me, a real steal and well worth the wait. I can't wait to tear into it and start the restoration. I am also looking forward to everyone's great advise and knowledge as I move forward. I will be posting some pictures soon. WISH ME LUCK!!!

Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to GTtalk.

Nascar is right, we all love pics :D Also it doesn't stop at just one, once you have the first one you contract STD. (Sever tractor disorder)

Trust me, there will be plenty of pictures as well as plenty of questions. This will be my first restoration project so I'm sure I will be seeking the advice of the many EXPERTS her in Bolens land. BTW, you would think that the word Bolens would be in the dictionary on a Bolens forum!!!

Very, very nice Bolens 1050. Great piece to start with. It is in nice enough condition to keep the way it is and show it's maturity and still look good. They do look even better restored but then that leads to being afraid to get them dirty LOL.

If you get the serial# off the engine I can tell you what year your Bolens was made.
