Why do pro baseball players carry a cell phone in their back pocket? better yet.... why do they have pockets? Can they call a time out to read a text from their wife telling them to get tampons on the way home?

We have a couple of very good classic country radio stations in this area but for some reason they think I want to hear ballgames in the evenings.  I wrote on one of'ems facebook page that they had a wonderful station with good severe weather updates and great music,  but when a ballgame comes on I can't turn the dial fast enough.

They took the part where I raved about how good the weather updates and music are, leaving out the ballgame crap and it has been in their commercials for over two years.  I should be gettin' some royalties.    :(

Couldn't tell ya why but if I owned a team and some clown I'am paying a zillon dollars a year pulled out a phone I would fire him--In fact I'll take this a step further if I was paying someone $10 an hour pulled out a cell phone at work they better have darn good reason or the door would be hitting them in butt on the way out.

I agree with you--I have more fun going to the park and watching the local bar teams play the seating is free and a beer and hot dog are $2 not $20

I hate when I am driving and they shut down the radio station to play any sports ball games.  I dislike sports ball games, and don't watch or listen to any of them.  But I am probably a minority....

We may be a minority but there is no reason for my contributing to a guy getting paid a million dollars to play ball when people get crap for real work.

Agree 100%

The average salary is expected to top $4 million in 2015 for an MLB player

Average yearly wage thus far in 2015 is $51,106

Quite the gap.  And the fella making $51,106 a year is spending his hard earned money to buy items with the person making 4 million a year name on it!  That person making 4 million a year wouldn't pee on you if you were on fire.

I quit watching ANY baseball for quite a while after the strike in 1981  The players think that because they can play a sport well that they deserve to live like kings?  I get that it takes it's toll on the body but does the common working man making way less who may get the same physical troubles deserve to be paid such exorbitant wages?  We wish!  I felt that if $$$ is all they are interested in they can survive without me watching..  (all it does is lull me to sleep anyway.)   They are a bunch of money grubbers in my book..  I also think that there are many players that are there because they love the GAME..  They go along with the crowd though when it comes to the fat paycheck..  So I watch if I'm in the mood but am in no way a devout fan..  Cell phones are ubiquitous nowadays so it wouldn't surprise me at all!!

Don't have time for movies. Life is outside and passing us by. When I lost 8 of my brothers across the water, life became very precious.
