Just bought a used 290 for $100 from the parents of some friends who are moving out of state. I needed a decent saw, reviews seem good for this one. It will start and run, but needs an obvious going over, it will bog and stall once it warms up. I'm thinking old gas and maybe a carb cleaning. I also read of a muffler mod and carb adjust to open her up so she gets a litthe more power. For the $100 though, I'm happy. My little Poulan is about worn out, never have gotten my Homelite 330 to run right.
