Well I haven't been on here in a while. I went on a short camping trip and on the way there I couldn't help but to look in every field and around every barn for old tractors sitting around. I think it is in my blood now. I saw a few and after stopping at a couple of houses ended up picking one up.:bounce: I think it is a Craftsman GT6000 or a GT 18???:confuse: It is a 3 speed with high and low so I guess it's a 6 speed. It has a Kohler Magnum 18 hp twin cylinder (missing carb) and 44" deck. The motor is not locked up everything else seems to be there. I am hoping that someone took the carb off to work on it and never got it fixed and junked the mower. I got it from a guy who deals junk. It looked pretty nice sitting there around all those piles of junk. I know absolutely nothing about them except that they have really tough rear ends. Any info anybody has on them would be awesome. It looks a lot like this one but I cant find one that looks exactly like it. I will post some pics of it soon.

Josh, I may have a carb from a Kohler M18 if the owner doesn't want his parts back. I and some kids at school are putting in a B&S into a Schweiss mower that shelled its Kohler. If he doesn't want the parts back I can probably sell it to you on the cheap side. I should know (hopefully) in a couple of weeks. Let me know if you are interested. Jeff

Looks like a nice tractor, glad it has the Kohler. It looks just like my gt6000 that I picked up last year, only in better shape LOL

Great score Josh. I have the Briggs version of that same exact tractor, but minus the mower deck, and with a fancy Caterpillar yellow paint job lol.

Isn't it fun going for a drive and scanning for tractors. Glad I'm not the only one who does that. Good for you.

The mower in the pic is a 1992 or 1993 model, if that helps ID yours any.

Probably a '92 model, if it's the horizontal Kohler. The engine is worth repairing, if no major block/ crankshaft/ cam damage was done. In '93 or so, they went to vertical Magnums, and then went to the Command V-Twins in '95/'96.
Either way, the 6000's rock.

The '92 GT6000 I have:

Looks nice! I just picked up a Craftsman with a 18.5 HP Kohler.

Have fun with your new ride!
