I love Onans, nothing sounds as good and the torque output is amazing. I know they're expensive and all the other stuff, but I still love 'em!

I also Agree!! :)

This is the intended repower P224G engine. Found two mufflers to try out, a Left outlet & a Right outlet. Exhaust adapters are still in place, bolts are rusted up nice but they get blasted every few days with penetrating oil. I'll be stripping the whole engine down soon. Just need to find more days in the hour...:)

That would make a nice "re-power" for Old Girl.

The rods shown here are from a 24HP Onan. These style and the right crank and Old Girl goes from 20 to 24 HP but 99% of anything you use her for you would not really notice the difference.

Rods are forged steel with replaceable big end inserts. Nearly bullet proof.

Even a super garden tractor with a loader will rarely exceed 10 h.p. for jobs.

My 10HP and 12 HP and 16HP cubs and I honest to goodness don't notice a difference between them.

I'm in the process of repowering my 420 with a linamar LX990 that was on a dance floor scissors lift, it even came with the 2 stage pump and whatever lines I could scavenge. It was a propane set up , used the remote oil filter as the vaporizer and the choke butterfly was removed. It has a spacer between the intake and carb, was that just for the propane? I know that the linamar is just a P224 manufactured under another name, but is there any difference between them? I'm going to follow this build and see what you come up with, it sounds interesting.
