hi all . I have tried to find a hood for my 1961 wheel horse suburban up here in Canada to no avail, actually im lying I found 2 but the same guy owns them and wants way to much, i've bought tractors for less, so if anyone happens to have one, with a tank would be great please send me a pm, I would probably need it shipped to buffalo, but price and details can be worked out later, I would like to have this one complete before I hide it in the depths of may garage, never to see the light of day again. ha ha !!!!!

This is an ad I found in my area.  An exact match!

How much is too much? Parts can easily cost you more than a whole tractor.

he wants $200, I have 2 rj's and 5 suburbans and the whole tractors have cost me $200 for a decent one to $400 for a really nice one,  I bought a parts one with no motor and no hood for $40 and it had nice ags on it, I hate being patient, but im also cheap. theres one about 3hrs from me for $50 which is reasonable however he wont ship, I told him get a price, call me, I will send him a check or money order for it all, then ship it, but no way, I think im the one trusting him not the other way around, oh well just have to keep checking

Wow!  Well I guess that explains why its been listed for so long.  I didn't notice any gold in that picture.  It was worth a shot.  Good luck.

That hood looks to be in very good condition their usually not and that style is not as easy to bang out as the plain 1958 round hood offer him 175.00 its worth it I think.

well its like this, pay $200 for the hood or get a nice running one with deck and all the guards for $400 from a guy I know or I can have one hes restored to really nice and shinny condition for probably $450, he's asking $500. I do not believe in supporting these guys that scrap a tractor and gouge everyone for every little piece, theres one on cl in Rochester ny I think its $50 but then again its a long drive, I would rather buy a complete one and save mine without the hood if I cant find a hood it will become my parts tractor as a worst case senererio
