I hate things like this :wallbanging:

As some on here know, I buy and sell antique tractors, I bought several tractors from a guy (that we'll call bob) about 16 miles away, he bought them from his neighbor who got a divorce. The husband sold the tractors to Bob because he didn't want his wife to have them and he was leaving the state so he couldn't take them with him. Anyway, the neighbor also left 3 tractors at bobs house and he was going to come back to get them in a couple months. One tractor being a Allis Chalmers C with belly mower, a Allis Chalmers WD45 (wide front) that was restored and a Farmall H (wide front)  with factory power steering and 3-pt. 2 years went by and the guy never got the tractors from Bob. So he then called the guy who left them and told him he wanted them gone. He came down to look at them, but said that Bob could keep them because the engines are stuck. Right after he left, he then called back Bob and said that he wants the tractors after all. He wants to give them to his kids (ages around 15 and 20) Bob said that he then owes him for storage fees for 2 years, they both got in a fight about it and left it at that.

Mean while, Bob calls me and says that he has these 3 tractors that he wanted me to come look at, he told me the story on them but apparently left the part about them fighting over them :wallbanging:.

So I head over there (keep in mind 16 miles) and when I got there the A/C C with belly mower was missing and he said his neighbor must of hauled it off. So we made a deal on the other 2 tractors and he said he needed them out by tonight (it was around 2:00pm at the time) so I said I could do that, but I had to unload my trailer and ect first. So I brought my brother along to help me get them loaded, we get over there and hook a chain onto the WD45 to get it pulled out of the weeds when a kid from the neighbors house walked over and said that these tractors are theirs and Bob didn't have the right to sell them. So we said OK (not wanting to argue with the kid) so we drove back up to Bobs house just in time for the neighbors (older son and mother) to pull up and they get in a argument with Bob over these tractors. Mean while my bother and I are standing there thinking Geeeeezzzee, what did we get into??? So I interrupted the argument and said that I don't want to be in the middle of this and I want my money back. So the neighbors left and Bob was nice enough and gave me my money. He called when I got home and apologized and said he will get it sorted out and let me know. When he calls back I'm going to tell him that I don't want them. I don't want to be in the middle of all of this, these tractors aren't that killer of a deal and I'm going to tell him to keep them.

Sorry for the long post, just made me mad to make 2 16 mile trips (64 miles total and half of that was with a 24ft trailer) for nothing. Wasted a good half day and I had lots to do.

Thanks for listening

Sorry to hear this. The stress of this kind of situation is not worth it. Good decision to walk away, because no telling what could happen later if you did end up with them.

Glad you're home safe, no firearms or police in the story and a valuable lesson shared.
Now, when I go look at a tractor, I guess I will have to ask if they belong to the seller :D

Better safe than sorry--- no tractor is worth being in the middle of a hassel with crazy people. And yes, they're crazy, IMO.

Glad you stayed out of it, and Thanks! for the link. I spent the next hour going down memory lane in YouTube. Most times I drill down through (Big Diesel Engines) (Tractor Pulls) (GT How Too's) but this was enjoyably different, and I think I'll connect the PC sound to the shop surround system tomorrow to continue the journey. Here is what I viewed tonight.

Mungo Jerry - In the Summer time

Animals - House of the rising sun

Mammas & Pappas- California Dreaming

"" Monday Monday

Monkeys- Daydream Believer

Archies - Sugar Sugar

Gordon Lightfoot - Wreck of the Edmonds Fitzgeralod

Thank You

Thanks all, sorry I haven't posted back in, been enjoying a nice day off and watching the rain.

I thought the same thing about someone pulling a gun and now with KS new gun laws it's getting even scarier.

Thanks again for everyone's post
