Here are some photos of a 16 HP Wolseley tractor for sale in the UK for your interest. It runs happily apparently. I can't remember if this is a 990 or 960? What your thoughts on this? I know the seat is missing and the seller got one somewhere in its place.

That is hydrostatic drive so it has to be a 990. It appears to be a 1980 or 1981 as it doesn't have the starter generator bump in the grill. I would like to find one of the later model grilles as I have repowered with a Kubota 2 cylinder diesel.

Does the gas tank run from the front all the back to the grill area, would hold a lot of gas. Looks in good shape. I also noticed a MF 35 farm tractor sitting beside it, picture not big enough to tell for sure though. Thanks for the pictures, Noel

That's actually the same grille MTD used on the Columbia branded tractors. That style never had the bump even when equipped with a starter/generator like the one in the original post. It appears to have the scissors deck linkage, bolt-on wheels, and no dipstick notch in the gas tank so it should be pre-'76.

Columbia being the Canadian branded 990. The parking brake lever and 16hp decal is another indication it is a 73' to 75'.

Did you post this same machine before and decide to pass on it?

No it's a different machine from the last one. Thought you folks might appreciate an example from over here in the UK. It look solid in my opinion.
