I know it's not important to others, but I wanted to say that today is my mom's 92nd birthday. She's been living with us for about a year now, after a series of strokes finally stopped her from working 40-50 hrs a week in our upholstery shop, and we closed it. My dad died of a heart attack at 41, when I was 12, that was 50 years ago on my brother's 18th birthday. She raised me, saw to it I had what I needed, including copious butt kickings! She could carry one end of a big sofa well into her 80's, with her 4'11" 140 lbs of muscle. She went out dancing until she was in her 70's, and prior to the first stroke in 2006, looked at least 25 years younger than she was.

I love you mom!

That's fantastic!  My dad will turn 91 in August and he still lives by himself in the house that he built.  I do a lot of work around there that he can't handle anymore since I live the closest but, that's ok, he's my dad and I want him to be able to live there as long as possible.  He still cuts his own grass, brings pellets into the house for his stove, takes his trash out, gets his mail, things like that when he can.  I get the mail and such in the winter because he's not real steady on his feet and I don't want him going down in the snow.  Anyway, this is about your mom.  No doubt a remarkable lady!  I hope you have her around for many years!  Enjoy every moment you have with her and I think it's great that you shared this with us.  Happy birthday mom!

Happy Birthday Toppop's Mom ! Hope she has  a great day. I lost my mom two days before graduating from the Police Academy. Lost dad on my birthday in 1996. Sounds like your mom was a hardworking woman who was proud of her profession and her family. Hope you have a wonderful day with her. May God Bless Her and you and your family.                                                                                                                                                                                    Roger

And Greetings from Prince Edward Island, Canada.  Mothers day is coming up and I all ways think of the mothers day song I.O.U. by Jimmy Dean. That one always gets me. Most of the sayings relate to my mother , thats for sure.  Mom is gone now , but not forgotten.  Noel

Have you ever thought about interviewing your Mom? I wish I had taken the time to do it with Dad... But we had lots of time yet and then we didnt.
