3 weeks ago I picked up a Bolens sleeve hitch and Brinly Cultivator for $50. Last weekend on Monday sold a David Bradley with attachment. tomorrow I make a road trip up North to pick this one up:

1050 W Deck.jpg It has been covered for the last 6 years since it ran last. Found it on CL the second day it was posted and almost missed it. Bought it sight unseen for $125. Not going to push my luck for a while now. Better get the garden in first, then the mowing will start.

Looks like good buy, IF you are a B-fan I guess! :D   I want to know one dumb thing about some years of Bolens.........Why oh, Why did they make the attachments GREEN, when tractor is nice off-white??  They look real dumb on the tractor, almost like some owner painted them with whatever paint was on his shelf or came off diff tractor.  Kind of a Turn-off for me.  Once they went to the Green chassis and decks same darker color, the green then was fine and seemed to fit in OK.

Not sure on that. It may be a lift assist spring.

A green deck don't show the grass stains and easier to keep clean ?

Well I guess thats why you dont have one :poke:

Believe it or not this was actually my favorite color scheme for these tractors.

If you think about it the colors make sense, green is the color of grass ,  yellow for the blade and blower make sense as they stand out , red for the tiller (Most tillers were red)

Also makes part identification easy when your looking for lift links ect.

That's interesting because my 1254 came with a red deck, red blower, and black tiller. Why did they make different colors of the same attachment?

That was a different era of Bolens .......

There was about 6 major color changes from when Bolens started to when they made their final model in the early 90's
