Attached is a pdf on how I repaired a broken shifter knob on a Bolens 1050 tube frame - thought I would share as it may help someone else.

Another great use for JB Weld.  I use a lot of JB quick and couple not operate without it.  Kind of like baling wire ?

 

You did a great job rebuilding that knob.  Thanks for sharing.

I fixed a B model Allis steering wheel about the same way using bondo and flat black paint. I had a ton of time in it but I mainly did it to see how well it would work if I ever had an impossible to replace steering wheel.
