I have to agree with this dude. Here in S.W. Michigan any old none running, rusty/dented/mangled POS with a bad transmission is worth at least $500; more if it's green.

This is until I'm trying to sell it, then it's only worth "scrap price which is way down so you should pay me to haul it away."

Well, here's the thing - no one pays asking price on CL. If you do, well then you're in the minority. When I see a $400 tractor on CL for $1200, I let it sit for a week. If it sells - well, my loss....maybe. If not, I go look at it with trailer in tow and $400 cash in my pocket. More times than not, its in the trailer on the way home.

I got a deal off of CL yesterday and paid asking price. A running Wisconsin S14D engine for $100. The guy held it for me and helped me load it. It turned out that he is over 60 and a fellow Eagle. We had a nice conversation and I'm very happy with the entire transaction. The good deals are few and far between. Good Luck, Rick

When you see something really nice you may spend a good chunk of change for it . But that guy sounds jaded , really wanted it but the buyer didn't budge on the price and now he's crying boo  hoo grow up
