Got a show coming up the first of the month. Thought I would give the old plow a facelift. This is what I started with:

2015-04-08 10.28.33.jpg     2015-04-08 10.28.44.jpg

Lots of wire brush cleaning and coating  with Rustoleum Rust Reformer.

Final colors are Semi-Gloss Black and Gloss White.

I'm going more towards generic Brinly colors. Most likely, I would use it with the FF as I am rather spoiled with them! Just want it to look decent for the show! I have another 10" plow that may get painted to match a tractor. Then I still have the 12" 3-point plow to play with.

Usually, running an angle grinder with wire brush across things gets the excess off. Never tried POR15. I've got one piece I painted with this stuff 4 years ago that shows no sign of rust and it's out side every day! No cover coat over it at all.

I use the spray cans. Haven't seen the bottles. On the spray, it's a flat black. And you need to let it set for 24 hours before top coating. Then you can use primer or whatever over it.
