A Higher Call by Adam Makos with Larry Alexander

A story of heroism and compassion in the skies of WWII Germany. This is the true story of a relationship between a German fighter pilot and an American bomber pilot. Very well written!

http://www.amazon.co...'s world war ii

This is probably my favorite WW2 book.  I have read it several times.  It is basically a journal kept by a ww2 solider who walks up on the beach days after the D-Day Landing.  He goes all the way through the battle of the bulge and into the end of the war.  He talks about clearing out a concentration camp.  I liked it because it gives more of an insight into the thoughts and emotions.  He was older than your 18 year old draftee.  He had 2 children and a wife at home.  He was a teacher in Syracuse New York.

I highly recommend reading this.
