My wife's great uncle.passed away. He was a pack rate. Eyed up this old lawnboy in the scrap pile.

Engine is locked. Soaking the piston with oil removed the carb and reeds crank looks beautiful. Deck is in nice shape.

tank has OMC written all over. Lawnboy 80221

What can you guys tell me

Mid 60's model, I think? Is it self propelled? If it is, I think the term is 'automower'.

Well, you have great brick top there. Not as desirable as the older ivory models (imo) but a great example of why LB ruled the push market.

The handle and auto engagement stuff is hard to find if missing, but the rest of the mower parts are plentiful.

It is complete  handle and everything is there.  Not sure what I am going to do with it.  If the piston breaks free and I can pull the jug and get everything cleaned up good I will probably try to make it a running mower.  The crank is beautiful and clean, reeds are clean, the carb inside looks like it is brand new.

Dad has several of the older model brick tops.  Probably a dozen of them around.  He loves those things.  I just wanted to save this one from the scrap yard.

I wouldn't scrap a single one if I were you, good market for parts. Might be worth trying to sell or part out.

Her uncle was a huge pack rat. He wouldn't get rid of anything. His last 9 cars were in the yard. He parked the first one there in 1975 and added to it over the years.

The rod was broke and jammed into the piston. A couple thrust on the blade popped it loose. So it's too far gone for me for me to mess with.

or unless you guys can convince me to fix it

Unless any of you guys need parts from its going on ebay.
